GET TO KNOW OUR CANDIDATE Virgil Goode attended college and law school in Virginia. He was elected to the Virginia state senate as a Democrat, where he served for 20 years. In 1996 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. After running afoul of the Democrat leadership, he was re-elected as an independent, later joining the Republican Party and was a faithful participant in Ron Paul's Liberty Caucus. He barely lost in 2008, as Obama swept the Democrats to victory. Virgil received the Constitution Party’s nomination for President on the first ballot at the national convention in Nashville, Tennessee. He is now a dedicated member of the Constitution Party and acts as a chairman in our National Committee.
